i received an e-mail from myself with my pin as the subject. the message itself was just a very long list of about 20-30 random numbers.

    e.g./ -918476932947566739927429284748729

does anyone have any idea what this could be? also, the writing was in red, which i havent seen before,

I think it has something to do with the pin-pin thing?
    #1-Goto Options!
    #2-Goto Mobile Network!
    #3-Press your BB button!
    #4-Select Diagnostic Test!
    #5-Press your BB button again!
    #6-Select Run!
#7-Let it fully complete and check your pin-pin status!

Let us know what it says, thnx.

    Thnx, Tripster

that would be logical because i had just finished a diagnostics test when it came through. my pin-pin was yes the first time. just ran it again and it was yes again.

could it have anything to do with the fact that my bbm icon is a no-show? i tried to downgrade to 4.5 after having extreme lag issues with 5.0 and its nowhere to be found.

That's how I've done it several times before.

Did apploader indicate that BBM would be downgraded under Action?

sure did. went through with it, rebooted, and it was gone. been through about 5 battery pulls, diagnostics test, provisioning, re-sending service books, all of it that i could think of. and it is nowhere to be found. all permissions are set to allow. its not hidden. im lost. im about to downgrade and re-upgrade with the 4.5 bbm included and see if it will work.

tripster, if i delete bbm completely off my phone will it stay gone? or will service books push it back through like they do with aol, yahoo, gtalk? i have deleted them before and they showed right back up. will it do this with bbm as well?

I take it you have done a full wipe (not an OS one)? Hopefully had a restore point before this issue happened?
