    Hello all,

First time BB owner and first time poster. As a user of a general cell phone moving to a BB one of the things I noticed is that on my KRZR, when I got an incoming call it would take the area code and give me what state the call was coming from. I was wondering if this functionality is available on the Curve or on RIMOS at all?

That's a good question, my old samsung did that too and now that you mention it I notice my curve doesn't.

Curve will not do that, you may search for a 3rd party app if it is important to you..

Looks like Pint Sized Apps is gone! Sounds like legal stuff on patents with that Area Code software. Any alternatives? What a great app it would be!

Silly question, what is DM? I assume its "Device Manager?" Is this app something that came on the manual disc?

UPDATE: Nevermind, got it. Desk Manager....simple google search....all hail captain obvious!

Your desktop manager, the program that you install with theset up disc you got with the BB

if you dont have one, you can dowload a version from
    BlackBerry

Itg works good (the app) I got an out of state call today, showed up Minnesota, MN.. so yeh, it works,

Great app, thanks so much. I've been looking for something to do this for me! I'm in my first week as a blackberry user, and I must say, the community is so much more behind the phones than any other one out there.

Plus, I have copy/paste and MMS, unlike one of those other "smart phones" out there.

    -Cheers!

Once you have downloaded the ZIP file, you have to unzip it to the desktop on your computer (or to a folder you name whatever, BerryaCode works). This way if you put your download files in their own folders and these into a master folder, you will always have them on the computer if the OTA links don't work or the pgm just isn't around for some reason later on.

After you UNZIP the files, you use DM to BROWSE to where you have them (BerryaCode.alx & BerryaCode.cod), you then highlight BerryaCode.alx, so that DM can now install it.

DM will add BerryaCod to the program list and then you click next for it to finish with the install. Once it tells you that the install is complete, you are good to go.

You have to install the operating system on your computer ie OS 4.3 or 4.5 what ever you have installed on your Berry.

Yes on your computer. For what? So it works. The OS should be on the disk that came with your phone. You can also download it from your carriers website.
