When in stand by mode I can press the red phone button and hold it for 10-15 seconds.I get the screen is in stand by mode then after a few seconds the screen goes black. I then can press the red phone button and I am out of stand by mode. Does your berry do it too. I think this is enabling my phone to turn off in my holster by pushing the red button.

Thanks, I guess my pocket case is tight or I have a sensitive red button. Maybe I can cram some tissue in the holster to expand it. Any ideas here.

Holy Cow, I can hold my phone button done when locked and it turns the phone off...is this right guys? Someone try it for me. I am going to get another case.

If I go into standby and then hild down the power button, it exits from standby.

Just tried it and yup, my Curve does it as well.

I am on 4.5 woth sprint. I friend has a 3.0 version and his stays locked. Is there a problem with phone or do I/we need to redownload service books.

Is there a on line Blackberry support other than the one they charge us. I would like to know if this is a issue or standard with my version.

Haha my phone shuts down even when locked. But when u reboot it is still in lock mode. Strange!

holding down my end button takes it out of stand-by mode

If I'm in standby and I hold the end button it comes out of standby.

If my BB is locked and I hold the end button it turns off.

Is there a place to notify BB of this issue to see if they have a fix. Don't really want to pay for customer service and be told that it is a known issue...
