Hi all,
Newbie here ! Not sure if I am even doing this properly (thread). I am a Sprint BB 8130 Pearl guy that is VERY ANXIOUSLY waiting for the release of the 8330 Curve. I heard from my contact at the Sprint Store that the "soft-Launch" is April 17th (tomorrow) however as of 6:45pm tonight I stopped in the store and they still have NOT recieved the devices in the store. I really like the 8130 but miss the qwerty keyboard, screen size and resolution of my previous 8830. Has anyone else heard of any release dates on the Sprint 8330?? Patience is NOT one of my qualities. Is the OS basically the same as the 8130? In hope to be pleasantly surprised !!
I’m also anxiously waiting for the release of the 8330 Curve and who is also proud owner of a BB 7520, yes I know, but just as you my friend I made a quick stop at my neighborhood sprint store and to my surprised they said it will most likely be release in the first weeks of May??
There have been a lot of rumors saying that the release has been delayed until June 1st! Others say it will be released April 20 which coincides with the beginning of the new rebate period (which is apparently when they like to release new phones).
As far as the original OS question, the 8330 should have OS 4.3 which would include some goodies like better media card support, streaming video, video recording.. NICE stuff!
If it takes to long.. forget Sprint.. I'll switch to whoever gets the 9000! If the 8330 isn't released until June.. why not wait a little longer for the 9000... assuming it will be released this summer!
Will it work in Japan and Korea? I heard that only BlackBerry 8707 can work in Japan and korea. It's 3G model, so 8707 work in almost all over the world. My friend recommend a Japan BlackBerry rental company, who offer very low price for travellors worldwide.
