    Just look through BB app world and the CB app store as you may find some useful apps in their for address book customization. Why can't you just add them to your contact list?

    The point is so that I know when someone is calling me whom I don't know, without having to pick up the phone and look at it.

    Ok, but you will need to look for a third party app to do that. You can't do it natively.
