I just recently changed from an 8830 to an 8330 through VZW. I like the Curve, but I'm having an odd thing happen. Periodically, when I go to answer a phone call, the speaker phone is on. It's distracting, especially at work, plus it's a little tough on my ear. I believe I'm running 4.5.0. Assitance would be appreciated.

I usually can't get the speakerphone on until after I answer the call and push the speaker button

You might try the old battery pull with the device on to see if it corrects the speaker phone. Does the key feel like it sticks or is loose?

This is a known issue with the VZW OS version 4.5.0.77, what you are experiencing is called speaker blast

Try updating to the newest version of 4.5.0.138, or if you feel so inclined check out one of the hybrid OS's

Note: to see the current OS version, press Alt+shift+h

Sometimes the phone can get stuck on the speakerphone. It's not a very common issue but try this: On a phone answer and then toggle the speaker on then pop it back off like 10 seconds later, and make sure the call is ended off of speakerphone, almost like it gets set as a default. I'm not 100% sure that will do anything, but it's worth a try.
