Why do I sometimes get the blue flashing light and sometimes not? I can't seem to find a pattern.

Blue flash is ONLY for Bluetooth. If your Bluetooth is active it'll be flashin you the blue.

The blue light usually means a Bluetooth connection is activated. My BB will usually automatically connect to my TomTom and the blue light will flash indicating such.
