I just got my sprint blackberry 8330 curve version 4.3.0.127 (platform 3.1.0.73) and I want to upgrade to the latest software but I don't know where to look and only have a slight idea on how to install it on my phone. I know theres a thread with the latest software but it leads me to blackberry.com and when I put my device the only software upgrade it says is the same version I have yet on this website it says theres a v4.5

    What do i do?

4.5 is still Beta , not official yet, if you install it , it voids your warranty and you could possibly brick your phone. As soon as the official release for your Sprint 8330 is available the Crackheads here will know it . It shouldn't be much longer..........

Upgrading your OS is not difficult, but it is not trivial either. It will be much easier to do, and you will be much more likely to be successful, if you first get some basic familiarity with your BlackBerry. A good way to do that is to perform the CrackBerry Memory Optimization Procedure that's linked in my sig. Created by Forums Moderator Reed McLay, it will show you how to install your device OS on your PC, (which you have to do to upgrade your OS) and will help you optimize your free memory. It's a terrific tutorial procedure. Once you've done that, and understand what's going on, upgrading your OS will be much easier.

When you're ready, find the following post by bmcclure937: http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/prop...ocedure-53359/.

Follow his procedure, and you if have any problems, people here will be able to help you.

Oh I thought the updates posted here were official or something?

Does anyone know when it will be released. And it is likely that I can simply download it off of sprint website?

When your carriers official release is available you will be able to download it from your carriers website. The links on CrackBerry for "official" OS's are only official for the carrier that released them ,if they are not made for your phone/carrier and therefor void your warranty. Nobody says you CAN'T install it , just be forewarned.
