When I get new text messages, the little notifier at the top of the screen isn't showing the red star. It looks like it does when I am already in the message menu when one comes in, but tonight it's been like that no matter what. Thoughts? Oh, if I get more than one message the star comes on when it changes from 1 to 2.

Yes this is most likely the result of an unopened email. Reason I say this is I goto an email I've read and I mark it as Unopened. Then I goto an sms I've read and mark that Unopened and the red star comes on. If the red star still doesn't come on it may just be the theme your using. Some themes I've used no matter if it be email, sms, mms I get no red stars at all from any.
