Hello,
I have a 9700 and in my txts I have the option for smileys, wife has an 8310 but doed not, is there an app for the 8310 to add this?

You can use Empower for the added SMS capabilities. Last time I checked it was $15.

In OS 5.0 they added the smilies, but I don't think there is an OS 5.0 for the 8310.

I'd leave the phone as stock anyways. The 5.0 beta builds are for advanced users, and I don't think they need the hassle of using it.

Correct, there is not and will not be a 5.0 OS for the Curve series below 8330. The OS is too memory intensive, and comes in around 80MB or so, which eliminates the 64MB devices.
