Im new with a blackberry 8300 and the button to make it go to sleep or the mute button quit working when I try to put the the blackberry to sleep but it works to mute calls. can anyone help me?

1. Hold the Left ALT button
2. Hold the Right aA button
3. Hold the Right DEL button

do that in sequence, hold all for a few seconds.

that should reset your phone.

see if that helps. mine has done this a few times too and this worked.

you can also try a battery pull with the device on.

I have had this happen before where I would push the button and it would not enter sleep mode. A battery pull resolved it. Leave the phone on and pull the battery out, replace in 30 seconds and give it a go again..
