Hi Guy's just got my first Berry and I'm thrilled with it!!

It is the Curve 8310 is it possible any way to show the sender's name of a new SMS on screen? Instead of the little envelope when a new message arrives??

Agreed. It's a paid app, but if I could only have 1 app on my phone, this would be the one.

Is SMS ON an application you can download or is it just an option in the BB?

When I recieve a sms or an email the only thing that happens is the indicator lite will signal red, but it does that for missed calls and email messages too. Is there any other way to make the screen light up when a sms comes through other than aerize?

its an option/app. go to your messages and hit menu>compose sms. if you want sms to have its own icon, go to messages>menu>options>general>email and sms set to "seperate"
