I recently bought a 8830 from a friend. He reset the phone through verizon, but now when I go into the security screen under options, it wont let me disable the security feature. I cant access the sd card I put into it, and I have to enter the password ever time I use the phone. Any one know how to change the security features?

Did your friend use it for work? Sounds like it was used on a BES server and has an IT policy left on it... There is a thread with instructions over in the Tips, How To, & FAQ forum.

Try going into options then memory card, disable security on it
