First post here and a new owner of a 8330.
Still learning how to use my device.

I have searched for the answer to this basic question but haven't been able to come up with an answer. If I download mp3 files to an SD card using a USB SD card reader, then install the SD card in my BB, will the BB recognize the mp3 files? This way seems much easier than connecting my BB to the computer then using some software program.
My son has a LG chocolate and this is how we get mp3 files to his phone, very easy.
If I can just use the SD card reader, does the SD card need to be formatted in any special way? Or can I just create folder for music, pics, videos, etc...

Put it in your Berry first & enable mass storage. This way you will gain your folder structure. Then put the music on there however you'd like.

Format the card in the phone and then use Mass Storage Mode so that the correct folder structure is established.
