Hi. I just bought a blackberry curve today (8310) and my house is in a low reception area. Every time i lose a signal, my screen turns off and then turns back on once it finds a signal again. Is there any way to make it so it just stays on regardless of signal loss? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I don't know much about the blackberry.

    thanks for the help!

Is the screen blacking out and unresponsive, or does it come back on when you kit a key? Does the LED turn red when this happens?

the led turns red and it's unresponsive for about 5-10 seconds and then comes back on and says there's no signal. then a couple seconds later it finds one. then about 30 seconds later it repeats the screen off, red light, etc

it's doing this thing where it shows the hourglass spinning in the middle of the screen with a white background now too. does it for about 10-15 seconds, then goes back to the main screen and does a security check

The red light and the hourglass means your phone is crashing and rebooting itself. I would take it back to where you bought it.

It may not be that serious.

Low memory could also be responsible for some of those symptoms.

Check your File Free memory with Options / Status.

If it is closing on 0, correcting it is simple.
