Ok, is there a software or some other way to save Text messages or emails to your media card? I have found, recently, that if this saved message area has stuff in it, you can't download things OTA....

You can save content from messages to tasks,notebook password keeper instead of saved messages. Having a message saved should not prevent ota downloads. You might do the ole battery pull with device on...
