- so i got my curve at the end of december. around the beginning of january it started going reallllly slow. i look online, find no solutions. I call tech support, and they told me theyd send me a new phone cause they had no idea how to fix it..
When writing a text the letters take forever to type. and when i scroll back it lags. and whenever i'm deleting it doesnt delete words it delays, then like shoots backwards and deletes stuff i dont want
so i got this new phone...and its still slow. what the heck can i do?
can i delete all the garbage off it to make it quicker. or is it just a straight Curve defect that everyone has.
like has this happen to you all?
and what all can i do to make this stuff stop. it makes me wanna shoot the phone pretty much cause it is the same thing i had to deal with with my Blackjack and my Razr01-15-09 08:57 PMLike 0 - so i got my curve at the end of december. around the beginning of january it started going reallllly slow. i look online, find no solutions. Also the themes, but you will need one of your own if you do that. That will free up some space. Also the newest OS 4.5.0.124 will help with it, but it does have a memory leak I heard. I had .110 and that had a major memory leak.01-15-09 09:05 PMLike 0
- uncheels23Jedi MasterWhat is your file free under options/status ? And take a look at this http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/how-...-memory-34633/

Hit menu and go to Switch Application and it will show you which applications you have open currently.

- With 24mb free you shouldn't really be getting any sort of lagging, is it constantly going through the spinning hourglass deal? the thread on increasing file free is really helpful but it seems like you're doing ok there that's about where I usually keep my 8310 at to work well.01-15-09 11:06 PMLike 0
- make sure u do not have multiple apps opened at the same time. A lot of apps sign in automatically at reboot like facebook and myspace if u set it to do that. Just batterypull, check ur file free and make sure its at a good level, then make sure ur apps are closed and open them only as u need them. delete ur event logs, prior mail history, etc to save memory. Even though it seems like mem is not an issue for u but saving anyway is always good. U should be fine at this point. If not, then it may be a specific app problem, or a defective phone. But 9 times out of 10, its an app problem. Before u replace the phone, do a device wipe and see if it still runs the same way. sync ur address book and stuff before u do this tho01-16-09 12:25 AMLike 0
- My Curve works fine. I keep it updated and keep the mem at least 12 to 15mb and delete all the crap you dont need or use.01-16-09 01:40 PMLike 0
- John YesterRetired SuperstarAnyone notice when in BBM and use the sym for smileys it goes really slow if you scroll up or down...01-16-09 03:52 PMLike 0
- i love that i had a problem that crackberry forums couldnt fix. gosh, who wouldnt want my luck? haha01-17-09 12:51 PMLike 0
- I had a similar problem with my curve recently.
Two things helped solve it:
1) Delete all old texts.
2) Set "Number of Previous Items" to a lower number, like 7 or less.
I'm pretty sure a high number of previous text history repeated in each message slows things down. I could be wrong.
Give it a try.01-17-09 03:26 PMLike 0 - It could be your push to talk app though I never knew that this option was available for a BB

- Hmm. Sometimes, when ive played around with some apps, deleted a few things, added a few things, my Blackberry slows down. I get the timer alot when trying to open things (Like a new message or the facebook app for example).
I usually just to a battery pull, leave it off for a few seconds, then turn it back on. Its usually ok then.
Other times it just speeds back up of its own accord.
It probably just needs a re start or something, i wouldent worry about it.01-17-09 05:56 PMLike 0
