2 questions.... will the current curve support an 8gb card or just after the os4.5, and will it operate in Japan? i know japan runs on 2100mhz, but you can at the very least get voice and text?? thanks alot

Currently no. You'll have to wait for the update.

Would depend on whether the radio in your phone is capable of operating at that frequency.

thanks for the info. i thought you would have to update to support 8gb cards. And also, due to japan and korea, you cant get data, but according to a few techs i spoke to, it will recieve voice and text....

Ok, I just looked at the AT&T web site and the model you state you have, the 8820. According to the specs the radio is a "Quad-band world phone - 850/900/1800/1900 MHz." This phone would not work in Japan on the 2100mhz frequency. However, I am not 100% certain I am correct thinking this.
