How do I assign a specific ringtone to a specific contact? I can't figure it out.

I still dont see how you set a specific ring to a specific Contact. For example, I want a specific ring for when my wife calls and no one else.

Open Address Book. Highlight the contact. Press Menu button. Scroll down to Add Custom Ring Tone.

Hello thom71gt. First go to adress book find conact you want to assign,press menu key and scroll all the way to the bottom.you will be able to brouse your ringtones. Hope this helps!!

Well, I must be blind becasue I don't have that option.

My last option is "close" and if I click options in the menu there is nothing there about ringtones.

Don't just hilite the contact. Hit menu and say Edit. Now press menu again and click on "Add Custom Ring Tone" OR you can just scroll all the way down to the bottom of the contact's information and you can change the custom ringtone there.

Is anyone who is running 4.5.0.77 on an 8830 having issues adding a custom ringtone to a contact? I can change ringtones on contact with existing ringtones, but can't add one to a contact that doesn't have a custome ringtone assigned. I notice this after I upgraded to .77 from .51. Worked fine in .51. Just want to know if anyone else is having a similar issue, and if it seems to be a bug in the beta release.

Try going to contacts, "edit" and click on the silhouette of the person, a head and shoulders, it should ask you to add a tune or a photo.

My phone didn't have that as an option, I had to click the photo to get it to show...
