    i need to return my blackberry to its original settings. i have all this crap on it i need to get rid of and i did something to it with the desktop manager so can i just backup my addresses and contacts and then return it to its original self then restore my settings? how do i return it to its original settings?

    Yes. Backup the device using DM. Then go to Options >Security Options >General Settings. Hit menu key (left of trackball) and select Wipe Handheld.

    This will wipe all your data but leave 3rd party apps installed. Then you can use the Backup/Restore Advanced feature to just restore the address book.

    alright so i wiped it but i get this is my main problem. when i hooked up my bberry to the DM its asked me something about email and i hit ok. now i get about 40 emails an hour that say look like this. and i have no idea how to get rid of it, wiping it didnt help.

    You will need to uninstall your Desktop Manager, and reinstall it and DO NOT check Redirector.

    ON your BB, go to Options > Advanced > Service Books, and delete those service books with [desktop] in them.

    alright thanks guys, now another question. i got all that straight and havent gotten one of those emails in a day, thanks. but when i wiped it all out and now im trying to set up my email again but i forgot my password AND username. is there anyway to get around it and configure it with my Outlook email?

    i used myblacberry.com to get my password using my PIN but still cant get my username. is there anyone i can contact like a support phone line to get it?

    Also, just today emails have been coming in but i when i go to compose email is says "no message service configured". Ideas?

    ok i got it working, just called at&t tech support and they helped me out. now is there a quicker way to recieve emails. my outlook recieves them about 15-20 minutes before my blackberry does.

    If you set up a gmail or yahoo email account you can get email much faster than the normal 15 minute 'polling' time of the BIS service.
