Hi, I have some questions about backing up and restoring my 8330.

I've had my phone for a couple of weeks now, and I've been backing up my device's data with the program, but I want to know if I have to restore my phone or a new replacement one, what exactly is being restored? It will restore all your apps, contact list, and anything else added/altered that's not considered defaults?

What about the data on your SD card? Or is that something you need to keep a copy of yourself on disk/ hard-drive? Thanks for your help.

it will restore all of your data, contacts, settings, NATIVE apps etc. It does not back up 3rd party apps or the media card. There is a way to back up your third party apps (there are threads on here) but DM doesn't do it automatically. As stated, you can back up your card yourself.

Thanks for that information. Give me an example of a a "third party" app. Would Pandora Radio be considered one? Thanks again.

Yep, Pandora or any other application that didn't come with the phone which you have added is considered a 'third-party app'.

A note of caution, Backup does not backup up the Native Apps. If you delete them, you must use Applications Loader to restore them from a downloaded copy of your device software.

The same applies to third party applications, they must be backed up using a specific technique with the Switch Applications program.

Your media card can be backed up using Windows File Manager.
