I've spent an hour on here reading through all of the gmail icon issues. I've tried everything that has been suggested. I used to have the red "M" icon on my desktop for gmail. I deleted gmail some time ago but have decided I want it back. I can not get the red "M" icon to show up again. All it gives me when I set up gmail is the regular env. w/globe icon. I read somewhere on the net that gmail is no longer giving support to RIM. Anybody know what's going on?

It's gone. There's no way to get that icon back unless Google decides to enable it again.

The Gmail app is not available from Google any more but there are many places across the web where you can still get the app. Here is one here on Crackberry...

Thanks guys I needed this too, but can I find an upgrade which shows images in emails?

The Gmail App will not be able to show any html in the body of the message. If there are attachments you can usually click and view them from within your message.
