If you put it in a holster with a sleeper magnet, it would.
Standby is exactly the same thing.

If you put it into the holster (which puts it into standby as previously mentioned) I think you can set the alarm to mute as soon as you pull it out. Which is great because you can do that without even opening your eyes.
