I just got a BB Curve 8310 for my girlfriend for Valentines Day. I am getting it early so I can theme it up, add WP's, add her favorite music, and add custom ring tones.

Her carrier is with Fido and the phone is locked to Rogers, I will be unlocking it.

Now these are my questions:

1) Should I update the OS before or after unlocking it? or does it even matter?

2) Should I download the OS from the Rogers website or does it even matter? (Fido is under the Rogers Network and I am unsure if it makes a difference)

Any help would be appreciated
