I have downloaded the latest version of Desktop Manager, and have downloaded the os version 4.5. i tried to upgrade it to the 4.5 versioni and it says that it can't. Anyone with any advice?

I did go step by step. It says in the desktop manager that i haveboth system, but on the phone it just has the 4.3

You should explain this better. It is a generalized term. It meaning your phone? Desktop Manager? Was there an error message? What exactly did you experience?

it actually says no additional software designed for your device were found. Under desktop manager help it says that i have both versions 4.3 and 4.5. So I dont know how to change from 4.3 on my device to the 4.5.

Desktop manager 4.5 the device is a 8330

hmm try starting over.. go into your control panel on your comp and to add/revoe programs and delete both OS then download desktop manager 4.6!
then re download the OS you want for the 8330 and and go into start>my comp>local disk C>program files>common files>research in motion>app loader and delete the vendor.xml

then open DM and connect phone and it should prompt you to install

If it says no additional software, then you do not have the OS installed on your PC. Once you download the 4.5 OS exe file, you need to install it on your PC. You could also have an incorrect OS version installed, that is not for your device model. Remember to install only the version for the model you have.

Did you read the link I posted for you? It explains everything for you.

Then that means that you have not actually installed the OS.

You have to click Application Loader, make your selections and
click next to finish.
