How can I tell if my Blackberry phone is connected to the desktop software?? When I have it plugged up using the USB cable I do not see anything indicating that I am connected.

You should see your PIN indicated on the screen.

DM sucks hard. I'm glad I never saw Desktop Manager before I bought my handset or I would be missing out on a great handset

It's as if RIM got Microsoft to write it or something

I usually have to try a few times connecting and disconnecting before it works. Or reboot a few times. It's a real POS, no good answer for some people, while on other comps it works most of the time.
