I just bought a new SD card for my Blackberry 8330, I have installed it and formatted it but the blackberry says it has failed. I have put the card into my pc and formatted thru that and it works fine. Also I have seen an error message saying the card is corrupt but it seems to be a problem with the blackberry. Also when I plug the blackberry in my usb port it doesn't show up in my computer, I have gone in device manager and it shows the blackberry there. Can anyone help?
I see you have a storm so the os is not a problem...is the card too big for your os? You might return card and try another one or try another card to see if your berry sees it.

What brand of SD card are you using? Some are better than others. I'm using a Duracell 4GB SDHC in my 8330 and it seems to be working fine. Perhaps the BB just doesn't like the brand you are using?

Hey xtort,
I know the media card is only for photos and music but are there any other ways you can use it? and would it be a smart idea to go for the max amount of memory allowable by your Os?
The SDHC card can only be used for photos, media, and BlackBerry Browser downloads. You CANNOT use it to store applications. You can get an SDHC card that will take full advantage of what the OS version allows, but why would you store 32GB of DivX movies on a BlackBerry when it can't play them?
My OS version allows up to 16GB, but I use what I can afford. I don't see myself using more than 1GB of storage when I have an iPod Touch for playing movies and music.
