Ok i've already installed it on my pearl. but when installing on my g/f curve 8330 bbm has completely disappeared. i can uninstall and reinstall but the actual program is no where to be found..

I'm not sure, but I think every time I've heard of someones bb doing that, it was because they weren't on a new enough os

You need .131 or higher for it to work

Your GFs Curve is probably running OS 4.5.0.77, BBM 5 needs at least 4.5.0.131 to work properly. That is why the icon disappeared.

What was her OS? If it was lower than 8330/4.5.0.131, you either need to upgrade her OS, or fix it with this link.

Regardless, unless you made a backup, her BBM contacts are most likely gone.

Yes, you just have to remove the vendor.xml file before loading the OS on her BB.

Hey you know what i can tell you guys are getting annoyed with all the BBM5 questions. BUT i did search and found nothing that can help. especialy with all the OTA links getting taken down.

Im going to be strait up with you. im a noob when it comes to backberrys. i haven't had the time yet to get into it. so i have to rely on this site for my problems thats what you guys are here for.

ok i installed the new OS files on my computer. but i can not figure out how to install it useing app loader. can anyone help?

Do a search for the blog on here about installing and reinstalling OS's and follow it to the T. That's what I did when I wiped and installed last week... did not have single problem.

right, but when i load the DM it dosent show any new OS's. and it is installed on the pc

what version of DM are you using, i dont recommend 4.7, I only recommend 4.5 0r 4.6

Vendor file is removed, DM 4.5, and no just the desktop manager and now blackberry device software is installed.

You could force it, lemme see if I can find the instructions for a manual force, or someone can post after me how to force it from the PC..

yes i did restart the computer. also unplugged replugged the phone in a few times. i'm thinking but i dont know if this would work, wiping with JL commander and then load??
