Ok i use my curve 8330 alot at home and have no problem with battery. Using 10-12 hours easliy and battery is maybe 50%

I come to visit my brother. Its in the country so the signal is very poor if ANY! So i basically dont use my phone while here, but my phone will still be dead after 8 hours of not using it!!

Is there anything to do to make this not happen?

Turn the device off.

This is normal behavior. When you are in a low coverage area, the device is constantly searching for service which (naturally) uses more battery power.

You can also put it in airplane mode to turn off the radio. This will save the battery because the phone won't be searching for a signal.

Using airplane mode will allow you to use the pda and other functions of the BB, as long as you don't need the radio of course.
