I have 3 Blackberrys and all three connect to Windows 7 fine. As soon as I pug them in Windows detects the device.
Well, I picked up another 8330 and with the same PC and the same cable Windows will not detect it.
I can charge the phone fine with the wall charger but the USB connection just won't work.
Now, this phone still has the old 4.5.0.131 software on it. Could this be a problem? Obviously I can't connect to DM to upgrade the software but I hope once I activate it I can do an OTA update and if it is BBOS related then it should fix itself that way..I think...

Has anyone seen this before?

did you try restarting the computer before pluggin the BB you are speaking of in ? I've heard that sometimes the computer will not pickup one phone after another has already been on it.

Sure did, also tried on my daughter's laptop. Same thing, won't detect it.

So I ended up trying a different USB cable and sure enough, now it connects.
All good here now

One USB cable works with 3 of my 4 Blackberrys.
The second USB cable works with all of them.

Weird. I hope this might help someone else down the road.
