    The hourglass thingy is always popping up and slowing down my bb and draining my battery. What gives? It takes forever for anything to pop up - battery replaced once.

    Go to options > status. What numbers do you see listed for File Free?

    IMHO sunkast is on the solution. Sounds like a memory issue. Also, do you have a memory card installed for your pics?

    Also make sure your mailbox is not too large or this will occur, and also check available free memory like the above posters sugested.
