I've update the OS on a BB before, but it was my old 8703 and I really didn't have it customized. I bought the Curve the day it came out on Alltel and now have quite a bit of downloaded programs and stuff filed and organized on it. But the question is, if I back up my current configuration after downloading the new desktop manager, will my settings and setup come back up after I install OS 4.5?

BTW- how much better is the new browser in 4.5 versus 4.3?

Yes, if you backup the device all your apps will be there with the new update. You will have to register some 3rd party apps after the update. The browser is much better in 4.5 and HTML e-mail is great. I say go for it, if you have a question let us know...

And this link will take you to the BB website that shows you what's new in 4.5:

    BlackBerry - BlackBerry Device Software

    Enjoy!

4.5 is definitely worth the effort. The browser seems to be about the same, but you gain a lot of other goodies.
