I just bought a BB Curve this week and I must say, I have been missing out. Have had the 7100i for years, but this one is much more advanced. Anyways, many of the websites I go to tell me I need to upgrade my browser or that my browser is "outdated". Do I need to update and how? Thanks in advance for any help.

Which bb curve do you have exactly (sorry if its in your pro but I'm mobile at the momment). And also wha os are you running, the new 4.5 browser will give you a way better browsing experience than any other previous os.

I have the 8330 with alltel. I think I am running 127.

That is the latest official OS for the Alltel 8330.

While in the browser, check Menu, Options, Browser Configuration. Check off all the boxes on the top and make sure Emulation is set to Blackberry.

FYI, if you want to use GPS, you will need to upgrade to a 4.5.0.13X OS or higher. The 4.5.0.127 Alltel OS doesn't support GPS.

It sounds like the OP is going to sites that have features that are supported on the BlackBerry Browser and that's what's triggering that message.

It's up to you. If you haven't had your BB for very long, you should probably stay on the OS you have until you are more familiar with things before attempting an OS update.

Ok. First of all, what is golf gps?

Second, as stated above, if the website uses features (such as Flash, java apps, etc) that are incompatible with BlackBerry, no amount of upgrading is going to fix it.

the GPS I want is greenfinder, but it will not work without turning on telenav. So I need the new OS to get greenfinder to work without telenav.

theres some articles on upgrading. its extremly easy as it pretty much does it for you.

Yeah, in that case, just use the download links and instructions in the stickies at the top of the forum section. Be sure to read, understand, and follow the instruction exactly, and you should be fine.
