Alright so I bought wondershare dvd to blackberry converter. Selected the 83xx series and ripped the movie. Ran to work tried to play the movie and it says its in an unsupported format. It did rip it to a .avi so I'm guessing I just wasted $30 for nothing. So my question is can it actually work in a .avi or do I need to see about getting a refund because it won't work unless I convert a movie that is supposed to already be formatted for my bb. I have an 8330 by the way.

I have both mp4 and 3gp on mine, they both seem to work fine. Avi does not work. I use software that was free from download.com called any video converter to convert the avi movies to mp4 formats.
