    Hi,
I'm from India, my provider is vodafone, is there anyone here from India who has upgraded their OS? Do I have to approach vodafone to do it for me or can I do it on my own and will it void my warranty if i do?
    Sorry for the noob-ish question

It does not matter country, carrier, etc.

You need to get an OS 4.5.0.55 install file for your device model (8310) and then you will be good to go!

Then follow the upgrade instructions in my signature

apparently it does, i spoke to the provider and they said that if i go ahead and upgrade unless it is officially released, my warranty is gone. Apparently 4.5 has arrived but is under testing here...

You can always roll back to your service providers version. It's just scare tactics.

Most of us use OS that is not from our carrier. But yes you can always roll back but do run the OS at your own risk.
