Too be honest the guys on Crackberry dont care about OS 5.0 updated through Device Manager... as it only carrier specific... We all want download links to the official release for example if your carrier as issued it on the Blackberry website for us to download
Not too be rude or anything, but it gets everyones hopes up

Not to sure WHY you'd speak for 100's of other people? Just thought that everyone with a BB has DM so more than likely they dont need a link they just have to plug in the berry and it loads itself. And it helps it's the Official download

Most people on Crackberry use Device Manager like myself...
The problem is when there is a carrier OS release, giving a example of you getting an update from sprint for you Blackberry 8900... thats only accessible to your network directly, so if someone was on the rogers network or like myself on the Orange network we will not get the update the same time as you because carrier release OSs at different times and days...
Your one of the lucky ones that have the update which id great but for the other networks we have to just wait our turn...
Where as If your carrier put a link on the Blackberry OS downloads page... all other Blackberry 8900 will be able to use it because we can delete the Vendor.xml file...

It's for the BB curve 8330. Sprint does not have a 8900. If it matters?
Nothing for me... my 8330 running the leaked 5.0 still prompts me to downgrade to 4.5 when I start DM. My wife's 8330m doesn't show any updates, of course.

Is this for 8330 only? I have DM 5.0 and eveytime I plug my device it keeps informing me if I want to upgrade the version. Not sure if it's OS 5.0 though Btw, im suing 8320...
I just tried to get the update to 5.0 and had to install the 5.0 DM first. After doing this it said there were no updates for my device. I have the 8330m. I was hoping they would have something for me. No luck for me!

Not likely, since there doesn't even seem to be a leak of 5.0 for the 8320. Besides, you'd be out of memory before you even started. My 8330 (with maps, messenger, and all the other useless stuff deleted) with the leaked 5.0 and a few apps had <10MB free when I installed BB app world.
