I just recieved a replacement Curve because the vibrator did not work. I downloaded and activate the new one. The little red asterisk appears only on the messages icon and not on the appropriate e-mail icon. How the heck do I fix it. I've been messing with this thing for hours. Please Help. Thanks

maybe it is defective tight out of the box.... no software can fix a broken hardware program...

Have you messed with your email options, there is a setting in there to show email icon

Message, menu, options, general options,
New message indicator, yes?

Is that for the email icon or just the count?

This always annoyed the **** out of me but battery pull does work.

Ever since I downloaded 4.5 OS, I haven't had this issue.
