I just recieved a curve 8310 from a friend and when i went to use the phone there is no icons on the home screen. If i type a number it comes up to dial but the menu button nor any icon are present limiting my navigation on the phone. Any idea how to fix this or what caused the problem.

From the home screen try Menu/Menu, select options in the pop up then select Reset theme defaults. You could also check your convenience keys. Many bb users put all their icons into 1 folder and assign it to a convenience key just to keep the home screen clear. Hope this helps.

I would go to options - themes - change the theme to another one and then save it.

Your friend may have selected a theme that had no icons on the home screen, they are very common as a lot of people love to showcase their wallpapers.
