If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.
does that mean once connected go into program files etc etc, and run loader.exe from the folder directly?

coz ive got the 507......which changes to a 561?!?!?!?

The latest official OS for the 8320 is OS 4.5.0.124. The .174 you refer to is the Package that includes the OS.

The latest leaked OS is OS 4.5.0.153.
Wifi seems to have better range with 4.5.0.153

Totally agree. WiFi is working the way I expected it would for the first time since I got my Curve with OS 4.2.

I upgraded my BB OS but my BB restarts everytime i connect to WIFI or use the Hotspot Browser. It restarts at least twice before I can use it. So annoying!

Just upgraded from .81 today and have the most free memory that I have ever had since I bought the phone, even with all the apps I currently have. It's been pretty steady for the day also, no real noticeable leak... very happy about that.

As for speed.. maybe a slight increase, not really sure, but the memory alone was worth it for me.

I have used almost all OS for 8320 and this one is THE BEST! I am with T-mobile and everything works great. I got my faves and all with no extra effort. Now with this OS I have more options on my faves such as Send Video, Send Audio Postcard and many more! My emotions on BB messenger now run very smooth. WiFi is way faster and UMA has better quality! The only thing is that it does not have Russian language but that is no problem - just copy and paste the ***_ru.cod files from the java folder from version that has Russian (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8320-v4.5.0.***\Java ) and I already have it back! And do not forget to back up your 3rd part apps! I recommend that OS!
    Thanks!!!

I too am using this new version .153 on T-Mobile and I am very happy with it. I had used .124 but ended up downgrading back to the T-Mobile .81 version for better UMA calling. I have noted that WiFi in this version is improved and locks into UMA immediately (the other versions were slower locking onto a WiFi UMA signal, with .124 dropping UMA frequently)...

Why is there not a new thread for this new version - I am sure a lot of 8320 users would find this version useful...

No new sticky thread, because it is not an official Carrier released OS. It's been leaked and is only available on torrent sites.

It also has a lot of problems. It made my BB crash frequently and I had to downgrade back to .124. This is a beta OS and in my opinion unstable.

Sorry to hear that. I haven't seen a lot of posts about serious problems with this OS, but it certainly can happen. Demonstrates why this is not an official release I guess.

The latest OS I could find from a BB Orange link is OS 4.5.0.52. However, the official RIM release is OS 4.5.0.81, so that's what I would use. The latest released OS for the 8320 from any carrier is OS 4.5.0.124. There's a link at the start of this thread.

The latest OS for the 8320 is the leaked OS 4.5.0.153. Google "blackberry os 4.5.0.153" to find a torrent download.

need some help here guys. I loaded the news software (4.5.0.124) onto my computer and deleted the apploader file and then connected my blackberry to desktop manager and it did nothing. So i repaired the installation of the os on my computer to reload the apploader and then tried again and the only thing it will do is update my applications that are on my phone. What am I doing wrong?

It sounds like you forgot to delete the "vendor.xml" file.

Not sure what you mean by "apploader". Also, what version of DM are you using?

Originally had v4.5.0.81 from T-Mobile after downloading v4.5.0.124 the phone will just shuts down... Have to pull battery to restart (usually there is still one bar of battery left???)

Also, the battery drains really quick now. this was not the case before going to .124.

will go back to version 81 from Tmobile
