For install instruction to load any carrier 8300 OS on your BB:
1. Download desired OS to your PC
2. Install/run OS to PC
3. Delete vendor.xml file. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader if the OS is not from your carrier.
4. Connect BB to Desktop Manager and it should prompt the upgrade. If not click app loader and that should initialize it.
5. Do not unplug BB during the process. It will take around 30-60 minutes to complete upgrade.
I JUST upgraded like a week ago... found any major improvements or just mem leak/minor bug fixes??
everything is running so perfectly right now with .89 I don't wanna risk messing it up unless it's really worth it lol...
Do you mean .81?? If so, there will be nothing major. Version .81 was very stable as well. if your happy with it, no need to upgrade. It is just minor bugs fixes that 99% of the people would not notice.
Hey guys, This might sound like a dumb question but what does BB mean by Activating Your Blackberry Wirelessly?
Its just when I plugged in my BB 8320 to my new PC for the first time it asked me about updating the OS etc and I went to do it but then it was going on about this and I didnt know what it meant and so didnt go ahead with it... so could someone clue me in please?
I also had the same prob as Undeader above & know its gonna do it when I find out the answer to my question!

question about upgrading multiple BBs on the same PC...
i have a 9000 and I did an upgrade to the .214 on it.
My wife has a 8300 and has never done any upgrades.
If I want to do an upgrade and I download the new OS, will the BB know to take .108 for the 8300 and not take .214 for the 9000 or will I have to uninstall the Bold's OS from the PC first?
I downloaded the updated OS for my 8300 but i cant get it to update the phone. I installed it to the computer removed the file that was stated in the instructions.. but when i plug my bb in is says no new updated. I am currently running v4.2. Can anyone assist me in getting this to work.
Not to be a stickler for the details but I was the one who posted the 8300 OS update on December 27.
