Hi guys - I am brand new to this site and pretty much was living in the dark ages of cell phones.

    I just purchased a blackberry curve 8330.

My question is regarding the memory card I purchased. I bought a 2GB card. I know there are cards with much more memory.

I am a pretty casual user. I have some pictures and music on the phone, but would like to also get some of the cool applications I hear about.

Is a 2GB memory card enough memory to download some of the additional application/programs and have a handful of songs and pictures ??

Also - can anyone recommend a good site to download applications for the blackberry ??

I looked on Verizon ( my carrier) and most of the applications have a monthly fee associated with them.

    thanks for any help !!

    Jason.

Sadly you cant use the Memory card to run applications through although it can be used for media like pictures , songs etc. Applications use your device memory

CB store has a lot of applications, and I think they put some free ones in there too.

Here is a link to a list of a lot of great downloads that Azeis put in a thread awhile back. Might be helpful.

You can store them on the memory card (uninstalled), but in order to use the app, it has to be installed on your device.

Hello & welcome to the addiction. As stated above the mem card is only for music, ring tones & pictures. All application use the device memory.

If you aren't going to load you entire iTunes library on the card you'll be fine. The previous link with popular Blackberry programs is outstanding. Start there!
