Hi guys,

I'm a first time blackberry user and my web wont work.

I'm in the uk and I've got a Curve 8320 that has been unlocked. Emails are setup and working fine but when I try to navigate to any other page but the blackberry site it wont work. It says something like "this is a wifi service please ensure you have a wifi connection" or something to that effect.

I'm not trying to connect through a router, but I should still be able to get on the web through the phone itself shouldnt I? I have registered on the BIS and I have the unlimited web bolt on thingy.

Any ideas?

did you register your new pin on the BIS?

Yeah I had to type in the pin and the imei number.

I also recieved the registration confirmation messages. The phone says EDGE at the top of the screen.

I've sorted it. Had to change the browser options to default to blackberry internet. Surely it should do this automatically?

Best to keep the default browser as 'internet browser'.

It does not do it automatically as you found out.

Welcome to CrackBerry Matt.

You would think so, but it does that.

I suspect it is set that way to accommodate the Wifi only use of the Browser.
