I just put a new housing on my curve and now get twice the amount of dust under it. It was free of dust when I put it on an now two weeks later has a visible amount. Before I changed it there was hardly any for 3 months. Is there anything I can do to prevent this? Or do I just have to take it apart and clean it more now since its not oem

If your new housing didn't have the thin foam gasket that seals the lens and lcd from dust, then you will get more dust in your BB. Also, sometimes the earpiece hole is uncovered as well.

You can buy a foam gasket here, it's under parts for the 8300, but it should fit:
