I just got a new BB Curve 8320 and configured all of the settings to how I want them. The current OS on it is version 4.2.

I am considering upgrading the OS to version 4.5 based on the logic that its better to do it now before I really start to customize my BB.

Aside from html email and the ability to record video is there any additional benefits to upgrading the OS?

BlackBerry OS v4.5 (formerly OS v4.3) Update Details!! | CrackBerry.com

I would recommend that you actually take a month or two to learn how the device works first before upgrading. It can be challenging if you run into problems while upgrading if you don't know anything about how to use your device.

I would concur with Sunkast, take some time to familarize yourself with the device. Upgrading your device software is not difficult, but you do not want something to go wrong the the upgrade and then you blame the OS 4.5 when it was actually you being unfamilar with the blackberry.

    My two cents...
