AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
My 8310 Curve is rebooting for no apparent reason.
It was not dropped recently.
It was not left in the sun, or rain.
No splashes or such.
No changes in the software recently at all.
It's been in my holster and just this afternoon as I was talking, it cut off.
Shortly after that it rebooted, then again and again.
Sitting on my desk without touching it, it rebooted 3x.
I have no Idea what it could be, if it was my computer i would say I got a virus.
Does anyone have any ideas?
any help would be wonderful
Affirmative on the Batt pull (waited 30 sec then again later, waited 3-4 min before reinstall), no change.
I'm not going to reinstall the OS yet but good call.
Pretty much just going home.
Top was up (was raining in some areas), not too warm, the AC was on, overcast
I did notice it did it once when I put it down on the seat, to pay more attention to the road at the time.
I thought I may have hit the power button but I couldnt think of how.
Then it did it again a few minutes later while talking on it, then again about every 5-15 min.
I think at this point it has stopped...so far, but it started for some reason.
It rebooted while talking, while laying down, while in my house, while plugged into the power cord.
Not a freakin clue and I'm trying to enjoy a cold beer to keep from tossing it into the lake!
Just timed this reboot, 3 min 11 seconds from startup to reboot.
I'm going to continue to track this a few times and then I'm going to pull the...
Just rebooted on me: 3 min 35 second
As I was saying I'm going to pull the Micro SD card out and see if that has any effect.
I have a theory...
It heard me talk to my wife about how she treats her phones she has killed all prior phones, ran one over, dropped one in the sink full of water, as opposed to how I treat mine (with care) never lost a phone or broke etc.
Then it heard me talk about getting the Bold when it comes out and giving the this one to her.
I think it's trying to commit suicide!
I pulled the SD card out, easily 10 min ago and no reboots...so far.
I'm going to pull a few new videos off and see and if it happens again, I will reformat the card and check that.
Formatted the card. It wouldnt work until I installed a clean formatted card and then transferred the data from folder to folder.
ie: contents of ringtones to empty ringtone folder etc.
I checked each time I refilled the folders...took a while but I would say it's good.
the exact same thing happened to me a few months ago, i just kept pulling the battery and leaving it out for a few minutes. It hasn't done it to me since. Mine kept rebooting every time i got on the internet. It should stop after a while.
