    any reason why? like my friend sends me long text messages sometimes and the first one would come and say 1/2. but i wouldnt get the second one. i used to be able to get them but for some reason today it wont come

    If you are on Verizon, they limit your SMS to 160 characters. If someone on another carrier sends you an SMS that is longer than 160 characters, it comes in multiple SMS's. Not sure if this your problem, but I hope it helps.

    One way around the 160 character limitation, if you are composing and not replying, is to create a new MMS with text only (no attachment) rather than an SMS.

    Most (perhaps all) CDMA carriers do not support extended SMS on BlackBerry. You will need to compose separate messages after 160 characters or use a third party application.
