My 8310 is brand new...it doesn't seem like it's responsive 100% of the time. Like it takes awhile for it to think just to pull it out of lock for example. When I say awhile, obviously I'm talking like a second or two...seems like it should be instant.

    18MB

Literally this thing is like 2 hours old. I have nothing installed except my personal email thing.

Like sometimes I unlock the phone and it instantly unlocks and others 2-3 seconds. My biggest annoyance is that when I dial a number from the home screen there is a delay so sometimes it misses the first number or two.

No I have other crap but I can't shut it down. What do I have to do to shut it down?

If the phone goes into sleep on its own, it takes like 5 seconds to come back to life when I press a button. The selection thing is frozen over the last selection.

Free up as much memory as possible. 18mb isn't bad though. The BB right now is a pretty sluggish device in general in my experience, with the exception of the Bold.

Uh, I reset the BB using the alt+del+cap (Google result) and now I just get a spinning hourglass and the phone isn't starting up. Tried pulling the battery, no dice, it just goes back to a spinning hourglass.

Nevermind, it eventually turned on. This phone is entirely too slow however. Not sure if I'm going to keep it if it's going to take 5 seconds to respond every time I pull it out of hibernate.

Just curious what other people's free space is? Mines showing File free-44419476. File total-83623936. I really havent downloaded much except for NFL Mobile & Pocket express. Is it normal to only have about half the memory left? My signal is reading-101 dbm is that good? I'm fairly new to the bb. Thanks for the advice.

Yeah, 44MB is a lot. I only have 19MB free right now, but my phone has been running for a while. With the 8330, you have more memory in general though, the 8300-8320's only start with 64MB as opposed to the 8330's 96MB.
