I have Key Tone disabled, and I'm able to dial with my Verizon Wireless 8330 CDMA BlackBerry with no problems. As long as I make a call when the Profile is set to Quiet or Vibrate. I have dial from Home Screen disabled. This allows me the use the many shortcuts available using the keypad. I can change my profile with a few clicks.
Change to Vibrate Mode = F, V, Enter
Change to Quiet Mode = F, Q, Enter
I just type them in sequence.
