    Hi Everyone:

This is my first official post here on crackberry.com

I currently have the Blackberry 8310 and would like to add a microSD card to the unit.

I noticed that some retailers are selling microSD cards which have 4GB of capacity - microSDHC

Will this work with my blackberry? I believe the O/S is: 4.2.2.163

    Please let me know?

    Thank you.

This is the official word from RIM, although it does work on some devices, it cannot be guarenteed that it will INDEED work...

Currently, BlackBerry smartphones support media cards with up to 8GB of memory. MicroSD media cards with 4GB and 8GB of memory require BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry Device Software 4.3 or later.

    Hi Bla1ze:

Thanks for the information regarding the expandable microSD memory slot.

I guess it might be best then to purchase a 2GB microSD stick.

I'm going to purchase a 2GB microSD stick, but I might also try a 4GB just to see what happens (if anything).

    Thanks.

I have an 8GB thinking I was going to be able to put apps on it since the internal is so small. The card itself works...$12 at amazon.
