Sometimes my BlackBerry is in it's sleeve and the red light is blinking with a message, and as soon as I pull it out of the sleeve it automatically opens the message (whether SMS, BBM, email, etc.) How can I change this setting so that I have to manually choose to open the message? (This is especially relevant for me with BBM- sometimes people can see that I have read the message and not responded yet, I do not always want to read the message right away).
It's just the way the setting is in the os you can't change it. next time you get a message just wait a little bit take the phone outta the sleeve then it wont open automatically
Yes, it's a convenience feature. The OS assumes that if you pull the phone out immediately upon notification that you WANT to view the message. If you wait 15 seconds or so before you remove it, the message won't automatically open.
